Fairy by MariposaViajera at Photobucket

This week I’ve decided to combine the Monday Mural and the Friday Five from Poefusion. The words are kempt, string, dilated, vinegar and mural.

after the string of his bow broke

he cleansed the wound with vinegar

from an alabaster bottle

called his kempt hounds to order

pressed on in the moonlight

beguiled by fairy music

played on the harp

by the beautiful creature

first glimpsed

in a mural

dilating his heart.

I like the last line – dilating his heart. There’s a romantic sense to this poem, wonderful use of friday 5 words and the whole poem goes so well with the image.

Thank you all for your comments which are very helpful. I’m slowly coming to the conclusion that what I enjoy doing most is telling a story.

Your poem has a mystery- his wounds, his hounds, as well as romance. I like how you spun a tale of hope. Beautiful work.
